Critique - Restaurant Issue Cover - PLEASE COMMENT!

I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON THIS!
After the first critique session with Jen, Jan, Kristin, et. al., on the restaurant issue cover, I created another draft. I bought a cloth napkin (at Target on clearance, of course ;) and set up a scene in my apartment and took the photo with my little point-and-shoot camera. Then in photoshop I created the embroidered text to go on the napkin (I made an oval shape, added texture to it, and copied and pasted to form the letters).

My task now is to find a way to make this look more restauranty. Any suggestions? Menu? Wine list? bread basket? candles? let me know.

Okay so I really like this. You managed to make this about restaurants and not just food... that said, I am not sure about the scene behind it. To me it says "high class restaurant," which might not be general enough (after all, we do include restaurants like booches). I suppose if this ends up being a studio shot of a napkin by a Missourian photographer this will be solved. I like your placement of the different feature article titles and that you included them... i think it will really make the reader aware of what's inside but maybe half of the title should be hidden to give more of the "insider guide" feel. Overall it's looking really good!

I really like this. Could you shoot it against a blank wall and add a background in photoshop (like a restaurant scene from a stock photo site). Or just have it against a black backdrop -- like the Etiquette issue last year (it was a wine glass and a swirly straw against a black background; it looked great).
The napkin and the embroidery look really good!
